TV News"Battlestar Galactica" to out two gay characters in upcoming webseries
It's being reported that the upcoming Battlestar Galactica mid-season bridge webisodes ("The Face of the Enemy") set to premiere before the show returns in January will out two of its male characters, giving the show some much-needed diversity ... for the last half of its final season. Well, better late than never. To find out which two of the guys will be making out online (seriously!) before the series returns, head on through the jump... Submitted by on Tue, 2008-11-18 12:39. Another gay bites the dust: "Lipstick Jungle" axed
Just when the smoke is starting to clear on the whole Grey’s Anatomy fiasco, gay visibility on TV takes another hit as NBC pulls the plug on Lipstick Jungle. Having successfully survived the faceoff with the similarly-themed Cashmere Mafia which was axed by ABC last season (and featured a lesbian storyline of its own), Lipstick failed to take off in its sophomore season ... which is too bad because this one had plenty in store for the gays this season. Even though the blink-and-you-may-miss-him gay assistant Roy (Matt Lauria) was somewhat of an afterthought on the show, his absence will still be missed as we lose yet another gay character on TV. And of course, we also have out actor Cheyenne Jackson's appearance on the show to worry about. Let's hope the net doesn't pull the plug before that one airs. Submitted by on Thu, 2008-11-13 15:07. "Sophie" and her gay BFF are coming to ABC Family
ABC Family (who brought us Greek) is set to bring more gay representation to U.S. television when it premieres dramedy import Sophie in early 2009. Check out the details (and a clip of some same-sex snogging between a main character and the star of a recent cheeky commercial) after the break! Submitted by on Wed, 2008-11-12 12:41. Who's the gay on NBC's "Kings"?
Michael Ausiello, himself bona fide royalty when it comes to gay television spoilers, is reporting that NBC's mid-season drama Kings will feature a gay character in the central cast ... although given that the fact is revealed in a particularly interesting way, he's reluctant to reveal who it is. He will say that actor Michael Arden (The Return of Jezebel James) has been cast as the character's love interest, and invites readers to speculate as to which fella might be the stealth gay. So what do you think? Pics of the leads after the jump... Submitted by on Mon, 2008-11-10 11:51. No on Prop 8 update: Protesters take the weekend as misinformation hits the airwaves
This weekend tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets to demand equal marriage rights in California. From San Diego to Silverlake people of all walks of life came out against the initiative in an impressive (and overwhelmingly peaceful) statewide demonstration.
The LA Times did an extensive article on marches in the area. And SFGate took a look at demonstrations across the state. Celebs did their part in standing up against the measure: at the Silverlake demonstration (one of the largest and longest), Noah's Arc's Darryl Stephens and Wilson Cruz were among the marchers. And also at Silverlake, Drew Barrymore addressed the marchers with a message of support, saying, "I will fight with you." In a conservative county, an otherwise quiet lesbian couple spoke out against the injustice.
Meanwhile, Governor Schwarzenegger spoke out against the Prop 8 passage.
And Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council appeared on CNN claiming that "homosexual activists" had been rioting. Thankfully Anderson Cooper and his other guest were there to call him out on his lie. You can watch the video after the break. Submitted by on Mon, 2008-11-10 08:46. The "Top Design" finale airs tonight! But is it really worth an exclamation point?Maybe it's because my home is furnished with pizza boxes (they make a great chaise lounge) and cursed antiques from the "Curious Goods" store (damn you, Robey!), but I've never been able to get into Bravo's Top Design. The finale airs tonight, and above you can see a sneak peek. We're interested to know how many people are still watching, and how many people lost interest along the way. Or did it just never appeal to you at all? Submitted by on Wed, 2008-11-05 18:08. Bravo is "sew" very gay
Even if Project Runway's imminent departure from Bravo seems trapped in a seemingly endless on-again/off-again limbo, the cable network won't become a chic-free zone if Tim Gunn (above), Heidi Klum and the gang set sail for Lifetime. Bravo recently announced four new shows for the fashion lover in you. Find out more about them after the break! Submitted by on Wed, 2008-11-05 17:05. "Grey's Anatomy" sends a lesbian packing
Another network TV queer character bites the dust: Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports that Brooke Smith, who's been playing newly-lesbian Dr. Erica Hahn, has been abruptly cut from the roster at Grey's Anatomy.
