Homophonic video blog (Ep. 9): Our Lady J

Our Lady J is a woman on a musical mission of biblical proportions. This week on Homophonic, she takes her heavenly throne next to Alex on the couch for a revival of some of her most popular works on stage and a look into the future of her special brand of catechism.

From her humble (though no less divine) beginnings as a pianist and composer at a conservatory for prodigy teens through her time as an accompanist for the most famous dance companies in the world to her foot-stomping, crowd-moving "Gospel Revivals" of edgy Out music, Our Lady J teaches Alex and Lee a little something about redemption.

When she's not orchestrating her songs for a 16-piece chorus and making true believers out of New York's most skeptical audiences, just what is the Lady up to? Planning her first European tour, of course!

All this plus a live performance of a jaunty new track called "Timid Song" right here in the homostudio.

Get your fill of salvation, Lady J style, after the jump!

The Gay Agenda video blog: John McCain's lady problems

Is John McCain good for women? That's the question Jennifer Vanasco and Jon Mallow ask this week on The Gay Agenda. We already know he's bad for gays, but the media has gone crazy lately over the idea that Hillary's female supporters are going over to The Republican Side.

But is that true? And if they are, who are they? And if they are, should they?

Flaming Politics video blog (Episode 15): Unlocking the gay brain

This week on Flaming Politics, Japhy finds the gay connection behind the anti-Obama "P.U.M.A." movement, reports some good news from Oregon and in the Big Story looks at a new scientific study that says that homosexuality is probably not genetic after all.

While we celebrate equal marriage, what implications does this report and other scientific studies on homosexuality have for the continued future of the gay comunity?

New video blog! "Gay Wheels Reviews" takes the new Yukon Hybrid for a spin

The first Gay Wheels video review features a 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid. Gaywheels.com publisher Joe LaMuraglia and contributing editor Joe Tralongo put the $50K SUV to the test in and around the roads of New York City.

General Motors claims that the 5,835 pound SUV can get up to 22 MPG in the city — similar mileage to a 4-cylinder Toyota Camry. They boys from Gaywheels.com set out on a potato chip-fueled road trip to see if the Yukon is really a Hybrid ... or just a bunch of hype.

Mores for Gays video blog (Ep.3): The Other "F Word"

It has been referred to as "The Other F Word", but most people know it by its street name. Even though some of its more famous users have been sent to rehab, its use in the gay community grows every day.

In this episode of Mores for Gays, Daniel explores a word that many gay people cringe at and yet some have embraced. Is this a word that straight people can't use but gay people can?

Flaming Politics video blog (Episode 14): The Election Psychic will see you now

This week on Flaming Politics, Japhy uses his awesome psychic powers to predict the future of the general election. If that doesn't get you, the limericks about conservative politics or the vaguely Wagnerian ode to the newly-formed House Gay Equality Caucus will.

Suck It Up & Dance! vlog (Finale, Part 2): The big finish, with Cody Green!

Bravo's Step It Up & Dance has come to an end, and, as you watchers know, Broadway star Cody Green took home the $100,000 grand prize, a big hug from Elizabeth Berkeley and a punch in the chest from Nancy O'Meara. (He doesn't get quite so much love from runner-up Miguel in our new interview with him, but that's not terribly surprising.)

And for the final Suck It Up vlog, John and Colin invited the cutie champ himself - hey, it turned out he lived two blocks from our offices - to talk about his winnings, to look back on the show ... and to teach them a "victory dance." I'd say that with Cody throwing him over his shoulder like a sack of laundry, Colin's the big winner here!

With gay marriage legalized in California and recognized in New York, Daniel investigates a new quandary facing gay men:

Who gets to propose?

Many couples that now have the right to marry are finding themselves asked to decide if marriage is something they are ready for, or if it is something they want to do at all. With the help of an embarrassing example caught on tape, Daniel helps clarify some of these questions.
