Degrassi: The Next Generation (The N) 8:00 PM EDT
The award-winning, gay-inclusive, hit Candadian teen drama returns for the second half of its sixth season tonight. As an old school Degrassi fan, I've been looking for a jumping-on point to sample this series. Since I don't know if any local station picked up the syndicated reruns, it'll be interesting to see how easily I pick it up.
Loggerheads (Sundance Channel) 8:15 PM EDT
This drama follows a drifter who's been estranged from his adopted family since coming out, with the story picking up as his biological mother decides to seek him out. Telling the story as three interweaving tales, I hear this one has some strong performances by Kip Pardue, Tess Harper and Bonnie Hunt as well as some strikingly beautiful scenes of North Carolina.
The Best Years (The N) 9:30 PM EDT
Following the season-premiere of Degrassi, this new drama from a Degrassi writer follows Samantha Best, an orphan starting to college on a scholarship. I hear we should watch for Lee Campbell, a gay man who owns a popular hangout.
Saturday
The Graham Norton Show (BBC America) 6:00 PM EDT
Well, I would have recommended this repeat to you last week if I had proper information about the guest list, so instead I have to tell you this is your last chance to catch Joanna Lumley, along with Jon Bon Jovi, stop for a chat with the Irish comedian. Watch a clip below where Graham and Joanna go to great lengths for a joke.
