I'll admit, I've seen MTV's Total Request Live maybe once (sorry, Viacom overlords! Please don't hurt my cats.). So when it was announced that the show was going bye-bye after 10 years I wasn't terribly bothered; in fact, the thought of actually being able to go to the MTV cafeteria without having to plow through a crowd of teens in front of the building with a lawnmower over my head was kind of appealing.

But then I caught wind of this classic TRL moment, which reminded me that the universe was, indeed, for the better thanks to the squealfest: Bruce Willis and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson locked in a staring contest that ends with an unexpected display of bromantic affection. Awwwwww!

• In case you haven't been keeping up, last night Lance Bass and his partner Lacey wiped the floor with the competition on Dancing With the Stars. I would say he's a "shoe-in" for the finals but that would be too lame even for me.

And wait, MMC Theater's other big production next year is a musical version of Coraline with music by out Magnetic Fields frontman Stephin Merritt?!

This past Saturday people gathered all over the country in the name of equal rights for all citizens, with demonstrations drawing tens of thousands of supporters in some cities. But a gathering in Las Vegas had special resonance when television comic and actress Wanda Sykes came out as a proud lesbian woman to a cheering crowd. It had long been speculated that Sykes was gay but the actress had not felt compelled to speak about her private life publicly, until Proposition 8 forced the issue.

A big round of applause to Sykes, and your welcome basket is on the way. Although I have to wonder, how many conservative Americans will be scarred to know that they've been going to dinner at Applebee's at the urgings of - GASP - a gay apple?

When asked by SX News about the controversy surrounding NBC's failure to properly address his historic win (something we covered extensively) he responded “I did get sent links about it, so I found out about it, but in all honesty it wasn’t really my fight, and I wasn’t offended. • Logo (our parent company) has acquired the rights to the first three seasons of the gay-themed reality series Chris & John to the Rescue! from Canada's OUTtv. Premiering in January, it centers on friends John Simpson and Chris Carter (not the X-Files guy) as they travel across North America and deliver their own unique brand of aid to people in need.

• Rosie O'Donnell's upcoming NBC variety special Rosie Live is garnering quite an eclectic guest lineup. In addition to the previously announced Alanis Morissette and Ne-Yo, Rosie will also be joined by gay faves Jane Krakowski and Kathy Griffin. You can watch Rosie and friends bring the house down at 8 PM EST on November 26th.

Lance Bass visited The Tonight Show Friday and before his current Dancing with the Stars run came up, the discussion turned towards Bass' period of in Cosmonaut training. Which led to this bizarre revelation: somehow the experience left Bass two inches shorter. Lance explained how it might have happened:

"...because my torso was too long to fit in the Soyuz Rocket, which a lot of people don't know the Soyuz Rocket is a lot like our Apollo days, three people fit and your knees are in your chest. It's a very uncomfortable ride, not like our shuttle. My torso was too long to fit in the seat so they had to make this special suit so that when I was in space it would contract me."

Someone needs to take steps to find that documentary footage of Bass' training. It sounds like it could easily be the reality TV version of that Skins episode where the gang goes to Russia and wacky misadventures ensue.
