New Music Monday! Kylie, Adam, Mika, and Who the Heck is Sliimy!

Perhaps Sliimy is French for "very colorful"

We’re heading into a big Fall season for music, and several gay artists are already making headlines and generating buzz. But one new artist has many folks asking, “Who is Sliimy?”

If you’re not sure don’t feel too bad. It’s a question so big it was Twitter’s #1 trending topic for a while. Everyone from Lady Gaga to Miley Cyrus asked the question, and leave it to infamous blogger turned music mogul, Perez Hilton to have the answer.

As it turns out, Sliimy is the first artist signed to Hilton’s new music label Perezcious after becoming semi internet-famous for his cover of “Womanizer.” His new album Paint Your Face is drawing comparisons to Prince and Mika, and has already garnered enough recognition overseas to be nominated for Best French Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

So really, the only question that remains is why the two i’s? I’m guessing it’s because he’s French. Check out the video for his song 

Being a bit more familiar name to most music lovers is Adam Lambert whose upcoming album went on pre-sale Sunday, and the numbers are already huge. Besting Funny Girl Barbra Streisand, Adam is #1 on Amazon.com’s bestseller list . And he did it without any promotion.

The highly anticipated, unnamed album drops November 24th, and though the project is tightly guarded, Adam revealed he’s collaborated with Idol judge Kara DioGuardi to write "Strut," a song Rolling Stone describes as a “Depeche Mode-meets-Queen self-empowerment anthem that highlights Lambert's dramatic falsetto.”

While Lambert won’t reveal if it will be on his album, his first post-Idol single is likely to be “Time for Miracles”, a song he recently recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming disaster flick 2012. Interesting choice.
