New Music Monday! Lady Gaga can’t stop making headlines plus new releases from R.E.M. and Pink Martini!
Fresh off her stint as outspoken activist at the Human Right's Campaign dinner and National Equality March, Lady Gaga has continued to dominate the headlines. After being unveiled in Paris at the Alexander McQueen runway show, her new single "Bad Romance" will be released digitally on October 27, 2009, and may hit radio stations even sooner. Or you can just listen to it here! The single is off her upcoming release The Fame Monster, a revamp of her bestselling album The Fame. Four days after the release of her new album, Lady Gaga will be packing up and hitting the road with her new tour “The Monster Ball.” The tour promises to be over the top, with Lady Gaga herself describing it as “a multimedia artistic experience in the style of the first-ever 'pop electro opera.'’”
Her new opening act, Kid Cudi, is no stranger to the Gaga phenomenon. His single “Make Her Say” samples Gaga’s “Poker Face” and was originally titled “I Poke Her Face.” Classy! And if that’s not enough, Lady Gaga and Beyonce have recently collaborated on the video for “Video Phone” from Beyonce's 2008 album, I Am...Sasha Fierce. The original version of the song doesn’t feature Lady Gaga, but the video version features a new remix of the song with the two stars trading verses. October 27th brings us the newest R.E.M. release, Live At The Olympia. The live album captures the band’s “working rehearsals” in the summer of 2007 at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. The double CD set includes 39 songs including unreleased tracks, fan favorites and original recordings of songs from their previous release Accelerate.
R.E.M. Coinciding with the album’s release, the band is presenting what they call an “un-concert documentary” entitled This Is Not A Show: Live at the Olympia in Dublin. In a super limited release, the 60 minute film will screen for just one night in each city. Submitted by on Mon, 2009-10-19 16:13. |
