Is a History Boy graduating to be a doctor?...THE DoctorHe might be. British and out actor Russel Tovey has apparently been considered to become the 11th Doctor in the BBC sci-fi series Dr. Who. According to the Daily Mail that is: The information seems a little sketchy, but according to The Mail, RTD would have considered Russel Tovey, of History Boys and Being Human fame, as a replacement for David Tennant when he leaves next year. Tovey has been involved in the Dr. Whoniverse before and RTD liked what he saw, but he is not in charge anymore. This is most likely pure speculation, but what do you think? He would be the first out actor to play the Dr. Would the franchise benefit or not for such a young actor (26) to play the beloved Timelord? Who would your pick to succed Tennant? And, what does he, or she, need to do it well? Submitted by netogeno (2118 points) (570 posts) on Tue, 2008-09-16 12:09. |

I love Russel Tovey, he's a great actor. & It would be amazing to have an out doctor.
Sadly though, I don't think this will happen seeing as Russel is no longer in charge (of which I am sometimes thankful for, but right now definitely not).
