Just goes to show you all what a great character actress Rue is. Whether she's Vivian on Maude, Aunt Fran on Mama's Family, or Blanche on The Golden Girls, or Peggy on Sordid Lives, Rue always does her best with an acting chore. She also had a great plastic surgeon because she looked much older on All in the Family (where she played a wife-swapper) and Maude. But she was smart. Unlike Joan Rivers and other female celebrities, she knew when to stop and let nature take its course.
