I'm compiling a history of gay bars, primarily in New York City, and am interested in hearing from patrons, bartenders and bar managers of establishments that operated at some point between the 1950s and 1979.  I am particularly interested in identifying the names, locations and clientel of gay bars during this time as well as accounts of organized crime (i.e., Gambino or Genovese crime families) control over any of these establishments.  Moreover, I also would like to hear about accounts concerning police raids or any other notable incidents that may have occured at any of these gay bars.  I appreciate any help or information that can be provided.
