"Gossip Girl" Facebook Recap: So Who Wound Up in the Threeway?
Last night's Gossip Girl included the infamous threeway scene that got the Christian wingers all worked up. And like most ratings stunts, the actual threeway was very ho hum — and, as expected, was guy-girl-girl. But that doesn't mean the episode didn't have a lot of gay action nonetheless as Eric (Connor Paolo) got into the scheming business as he plotted against his own sister — with some very unexpected ramifications for Eric and his boyfriend Jonathan.

Boring
What a boring threesome. Dan, Olivia and...Vanessa, seriously? Not even fake vampire Lizzy McGuire could give heat to the self righteous twins. The only good thing about this is going to be the fallout that will come because of it.
Hey, but they gave us a lot of Hoyay between Chuck and Nate and an image of their early morning routine together.
It was good they let Eric out of wherever they keep him, it was better that they gave him a storyline and great that it was scheming. Does that mean he gets his own storyline now? Hope so. And Eric should not worry, there will be others and hopefully with more personality than a door mat.
All and all, good episode, lame threeway.
I'll admit...
...I was impressed that the threesome involved "major" characters (tho Olivia is iffy on that description) since I was expecting something along the lines of Blair, Chuck and Blair's new call girl friend... or another third character with less story than Olivia. The setup was great but the fallout should be interesting.
As for further Chuck/Nate hoyay, I got to re-watch the preview for this week's episode and noticed that both of the guy/guy possibilities teased involved Chuck and Nate. Considering how the actual threesome put a long-delayed couple together, that seems like an interesting.
Meanwhile, I kinda like where the threesome went. When Vanessa returned, she and Dan (and the rest of the GG kids) were trying hard to be adults. In college, those two have loosened up a bit and are suddenly acting their age. (An interesting contrast to everyone else who still are trying to act like adults.) For once, Vanessa and Dan are not trying to position themselves as the moral center of a decadent world and the two finally getting together certainly has possibilities.
Eric's story was surprisingly great. I loved Blair's comment about the natural van der Woodsen talent since it nicely echoes Serena's initial conflict. Serena's a natural at all sorts of things, including scheming. When she realized the path she was on from relying on those talents, she made that disappearing act that ended at the series' beginning. (She's slid back into her old ways a bunch of times, including now.) It would be interesting if being the good boy he was until this week comes from Eric having a conflict similar to his sister.... and if he and Jenny are on their way to playing out a variation on the B/S dynamic.
Where is guy-guy-girl?
You guys are soo greedy! :D
