"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Stop the press!
Today's Forbidden Love clip picks up with Christian and Olli making arrangements to tell their story to a local boxing magazine. Christian is convinced that once the harassers at the gym see their names in print, they'll feel pressure to back off, and may even be ashamed. I think Christian is giving this group way too much credit. They look like they answered a cattle call for "toothless scuzz", and I think they're the kind of people who would look at this kind of attention as a badge of honor. "Hey, wanna catch of matinee of Brideshead Revisited with all of us?"
Christian gives the interview at the the gym, but sees that he's never going to be accepted by this group of jerks, and decides to take his hotness elsewhere (and I love Olli's little head shake towards the idiots at the club as Christian's walking away, but I think I would have preferred him to go whole hog and give them a "talk to the hand"). Back home, they get bad news when the reporter tells them that his editor has nixed the story (which just proves my belief that ALL EDITORS ARE EVIL!), so they decide to try and find another newspaper or magazine to carry their story. NOOOO! NOTHING IS WORTH STOOPING THAT LOW!
Will Olli and Christian succeed in getting their story told? You'll have to watch and see. What I love about this episode is how supportive Gregor is in wanting to help out his brother, and I'm glad that Christian and Olli aren't backing down from this, the fight of their lives. You can see today's clip after the break, and thanks to Nanna and the Gays of Daytime for the translations. Submitted by on Tue, 2008-08-19 14:25. |

You forgot to mentioned the kiss
I just love it
I especially love how much Christian loves Olli and isn't at all afraid of showing it. I also love how much respect he has for him and for their relationship and that if it came down to Olli or boxing - Olli would win hands down!!!
I just love this show!!!
These actors are so impressive
Jo
Yes!
I think in many of their interviews that both Jo and Thor have made clear that they are really good friends. I think that that is why we can see the intimacy that they have as friends projected on the roles they play!
Now I am speaking Germanican (who who've believed?)
Excellent episode.
Excellent episode.
Loved the couch secene and Christian saying to Olli that if given a choice between his career and him that he wouldn't even have to think about what comes first.
Another excellent scene was in the gym with Christian facing his homophobic boxing club and showing his love by kissing Olli in front of the them.
I'm thinking maybe it would be better for Christian and Olli to go to the TV channels or local newspapers instead of sports mags. I think the TV news would gladly grab a story like that of Christian, a national boxing champ who came out in the ring, but the results was his boyfriend getting gay bashed. The story would gain national exposure.
Question: At the boxing club why was the most vocal homophobe of the group sporting a 1980s mullet?
Jo and Thore are just so superb in playing lovers. The natural feel of their on screen relationship is just beautiful.
These guys get cuter by the minute!

"It takes a village (to make Village People)"
This is the best show of its kind since--dare I say it?--Queer as Folk! The only problem is all the other suds you have to wade through to get to Ollian. No, really, this is great stuff. Of all the places the writers might have gone with this story, they have surely chosen the most original. But I was wondering...didn't the guys do a photo shoot for a magazine not too long ago? Might not the editors be interested in a human-interest follow up? Or was that just for Rebecca?
Photoshoot
There were 2 photoshoots.
1.) Christian was just a model and it was a fashion spread in the boxing rink. Not really about Christian at all.
2.) The photoshoot in swim trunks was for Rebecca. She is an aspiring fashion designer and apparently in Germany you need more than a portfolio to get into design school. You need photos as well.
Neither of them were about Christian so there really isn't anything in that direction for him to follow up on.
But Jo and Thore are amazing. I'm not one of those people who confuse actors and their characters, but I swear sometimes I think they are a couple in real life. The are so unconciously intimate with each other. I guess it just goes to show what talented actors they are.

This is what makes them so
This is what makes them so unique...they just present so much realness in their roles. When you watch them on screen you see all these tiny little intimate details any couple in love would do. I can't recall a more convincing couple on TV.
It's such a classic love story to watch.
Si!!!
Thore's acting is very convincing. Jo is, as always, great. I love this couple and I love the episode although the homophobes have outnumbered our heroes.
Anyway, from watching the clip, I think, our heroes may become gay activists.
P.S. I am looking for more of this couple. Right now, I am anticipating for subtitled clips about the love story of Max and Iago of El Cor de la Ciutat. The Catalan gay couple is as convincing as our Ollian when it comes to portrayal of gay love on TV. Max and Iago's storyline, I think, is about LOVE AGAINST ALL ODDS.
