I'm not sure whether my neighbours have rung the police or the ambulance service on hearing the sounds I was making this time of night, but if I get charged either way I'm using this site as my defence.

For the last few seasons Oprah showcase her celebrity friends that many viewers just got sick and tired off. She come across as detached and snobbish compare to her previous seasons. Her political agenda is self serving. She think that she is responsible of hand picking the President herself. Either the viewers cannot identify with her  political views or her social status. The subject matter rarely touch on regular people lives. Didn't we have Robin Leach's  Rich and Famous years ago?  As for Big Brother, the show is so heavily control and manipulated  it becomes unreal. The contestants they recruited are a bunch of meat heads celebrities wannabe with little substance or character to show for. When there's something interesting going on in the house, it's heavily censored!! I rather watch a hamster running the wheel or guppies swimming in the aquarium.

Sadly, the threshold for Big Brother's ratings are probably lower than other shows since the live feeds and mobile content means the show has revenue streams that other shows don't. Advertisers (and, thus, ratings) are the only way most shows bring in money, but Big Brother has fans paying to watch (a version of) the show.

And that's one reason why I have a problem with the show not doing anything about the slurs used in the live feeds.

Having asked the splendid Flying Monkey about this a few weeks ago, I've been keeping a beady eye out for anything on The Vinter's Luck. The trailer actually got TV time here in NZ on a prime time news/current events show. I was disappointed to see that there was a distinct lack of downright horny angel on show. However, on reflection I think Movieline may be premature and/or oversensitive. At least that's what I'm hoping. As far as I can tell the filmakers have been at pains to keep Gaspard's angelic appearance under wraps - even when he popped into Cannes this year they didn't use the opportunity to publicly whip up interest by splashing stills from the film around. I think (I HOPE) the trailer doesn't show any man on angel action because it gives too much away - in fact Gaspard barely figures at all and then the angel is only glimpsed in poor light or tight head shots. Well that's my take on it. I guess the proof of the pudding will be in the screening - it premiers at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Right then, Google cheap flights to Toronto............

I am not at all surprised that you guys feel afraid to admit you like Big Brother.   It's been ordained from above that BB is officially on the "Do Not Approve" list here on AE. 

Any attempts to show a fondness for things on the Do Not Approve list immediately result in you being labeled a traitor to The Great Cause, so be warned! Bad homosexuals!  Bad! BAD!
