Queerview Television Guide (Monday, November 23 2009)

It's that time of the year again as Barney faces the return of Slapsgiving on How I Met Your Mother and holiday injuries keep the Trauma crew busy. There's something reality TV doesn't do well - holiday themed episodes that feel like the holidays.

But first, it's time to check in with Oakdale's gays on As the World Turns as the Grimaldis get ready for the holidays. Be sure to join us today as we liveblog the action starting at 2PM Eastern!

As the World Turns (CBS) Check local istings
The new Grimaldi family starts to get settled as Noah agrees to live at Lily's, which certainly doesn't help things between him and Luke. Meanwhile, I'll continue to hope Lily has that talk with Noah where she explains about Iva or Meg and how being relatives by adoption doesn't have to get in the way of a long and happy relationship.

It's on with Alexa Chun (MTV) 3:30 PM EST
Matthew Rhys stops by to chat with Alexa today. I'm curious to see how much discussion Kevin and Scotty get, considering Chun's younger audience.

Dancing with the Stars (ABC)
It's the last set of performances tonight and out dancer Louis Van Amstel is still in the competition with partner Kelly Osbourne. Can they pull out a performance worthy of a win?

How I Met Your Mother (CBS) 8:00 PM EST
Okay, I thought Marshall finished cashing in his slap bet with Barney last Slapsgiving? Nevermind, if HIMYM can deliver the kind of laughs it did with the last slapsgiving episode, I can forget any continuity questions I may have, especially this year, Marshall bequeaths a slap to Robin and that other guy.

Trauma (NBC) 9:00 PM EST
It's the holidays in San Francisco and Tyler and Boone face an "unusually common Thanksgiving emergency" Hm, turkey deep fryer? Self-inflicted head wounds involving a forehead and the dining table? A brawl at the Farmers' Market over the last really fresh stalk of brussels sprouts? Slap bet taken too far? Whatever it is, hopefully it'll finally get them to have that conversation they were avoiding last week?

Million Dollar Listing (Bravo) 10:00 PM EST
Madison and Chad's paths cross once more this week as they Madison goes to an event hosted by Chad.

Chef Academy (Bravo) 11:00 PM EST
Most seasons, you can expect one cheftestant will get asked to pack their knives after they attempt dessert on Top Chef and tonight Chef Novelli assigns his students to recreate one of his desserts.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) 12:35 AM EST
Gay-fave comedienne Margaret Cho stops by to discuss the Beautiful DVD.

Daytime Preview for Tuesday, November 24

Good Morning America (ABC) Check local listings
Adam Lambert is scheduled to perform but I suspect there will be plenty of interest in hearing him talk about his performance at last night's AMA ceremony.

One Life to Live (ABC) Check local listings
Good news everybody! After a week of withdrawal, Tuesday sees a little bit of Kyle and Fish.

    Slapsgiving

In the original Slap Bet episode, at the end Barney was given the choice of receiving 10 slaps now, or 5 five slaps available to Marshall for "all of eternity."  Barney chose the 5 slaps.  At the last Slapsgiving episode, he received the 3rd.
