Tom Cavanagh talks Breakfast With Scot

Canada's E Talk! recently spoke with actor Tom Cavanagh about his upcoming film Breakfast With Scot, in which he plays a gay former NHL player whose life gets complicated when his partner's flamboyant young nephew comes to live with them. We have the full clip for you, but one highlight is Cavanagh's explanation for why he was drawn to the project:

"It's a nice slice of 'Canadiana.' A little bit of hockey culture and kind of a nice family story ... I like the role. I like the fact that you know, in terms of the flamboyance, it's not The Birdcage. It's not the adults that have the flamboyance. That's all given to the kid ... and I think that's kind of unexpected."

I think that may be the actor's roundabout way of saying, "I may be gay in this movie ... but I'm very straight-acting!" Or maybe I'm being too cynical? Regardless, the movie sounds like a charmer. Check out our reader-submitted review from the recent Toronto Film Festival screening here.
