Barney Stinson's video resume: Awesome.

You know, when How I Met Your Mother first began its run I thought it was pretty lame. The central hook (oooh ... which girl is the momma?) felt a little "Lost with a laugh track" and the central gang of friends didn't feel that authentic.

But over the past few seasons, the show has really grown on me, in part because the rapport among the central cast has really gelled and in equal part because the show has a seemingly bottomless bag of tricks and gimmicks that it likes to dig into.

Like this one!

In last night's episode Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) ended up making a video resume for himself, and the result has of course been posted to the actual Interwebs in the guise of a badly thrown-together personal website and amateur video. And it's brilliant.

From the central rock song to the fact that it uses a clip from what is perhaps the greatest genetically-enhanced shark movie of all time, it's amazing. Check it out. And move over, Robin Sparkles!
