"Project Runway" 6.10 Recap: "Around the World in Two Days"

"Project Runway, I have to send you back to the workroom to clean up your space."

That's what I wanted to say after the judges sent Shirin packing last week. She may have had on off week, but Shirin was one of the few remaining designers with real promise. But my disbelief and displeasure at PR Season 6 was only compounded by last night's episode.

The show began with a field trip to Rodeo drive where the designers respectfully ooh'ed and aah'ed at all the fashion boutiques. Who are they trying to kid? If you've ever lived in LA you'd know Rodeo drive is nothing more than an outlet mall for Larry King's ex wives.

Tim Gunn leads them to Michael Kors' boutique where they meet up with The Tangerine One himself who muses loftily about how much his collections have been "inspired" by all his exotic international globetrotting. Oh Mary, give it a rest. He tells them for their next assignment they too will be getting inspiration from a variety of luxe locales.

Cue the lame stock photos of St. Tropez, Aspen, Palm Beach, New York, Sante Fe, Hollywood and Greece -- which, unlike the other choices, is a country and not a city. I guess the PR producers thought the designers and their Lifetime audience would have trouble pronouncing Mykonos. They were probably right.

Back at the studio Tim has them choose their geographical poison. Carol Hannah gets to go first since she won last week. She takes Palm Beach and admits that she's a little flummoxed by this challenge because "she hasn't been to that many places."
