Glee recap (1.06): "Vitamin D"
Wow. We've come a long way in a relatively short amount of time. The Glee kids have already grown complacent, which worries Will. They're so confident that they have Sectionals in the bag ( to be fair, they are competing against a school for the deaf and a halfway house for juvenile delinquents — or as Artie puts it, "people who can't hear the music they're singing and criminals who don't care"), that they've stopped trying. Sue overhears Will complaining about it to Emma and suggests he create some rivalry to get them excited again. He divides them into two teams, boys against the girls, for a mashup competition.
We cut to Sue writing in her journal for a glimpse of her twisted inner monologue. She's upset because she noticed a quiver in Quinn's knee during cheerleading practice. Quinn blames it on being tired from Glee, even though she's been avoiding Glee practice because she's embarrassed about being preggers. Of course, this only further inflames Sue's hatred of Glee and her inability to bring it down. She decides that if she can't destroy the Glee club itself, she'll bring down the man behind it. She goes to Terri and tells her, "Your husband is hiding his kielbasa in a Hickory Farms basket that doesn't belong to you." That was a very belabored way to break it to someone that their husband is in love with another woman. Terri doesn't want to believe it at first, but Sue manages to convince her and offers her the job of school nurse. The position suddenly opened up the day before...when Sue tripped the elderly nurse down a flight of stairs and put her into a coma.
A lot of people complain Glee isn't realistic...which, hello, that's the whole point. This next twist is really going to give the haters fuel for the fire. Terri gets hired as the school nurse despite having no real training as a nurse. (First aid training as the manager of Sheets and Things does not count!) Submitted by on Thu, 2009-10-08 15:15. |
